Yahoo Search Marketing Keyword Suggestion Tool - Annoying Sometime ago Yahoo search marketing revamped their backend tools for their search marketing services. We haven't been in there for awhile as I clients preferred to spend their money with Google as the clicks tended to better, and the cost was more palatable. Well, times have changed again and now Yahoo tends to cost less, while Google is going through the roof and the quality of clicks are becoming alarmingly suspect. More on that later as we are still conducting tests. Anyway, we find the Yahoo keyword tool to be annoying. When creating a campaign if you enter a keyword, they will suggest terms which are mostly on target. Then, you add the terms to the campaign. But, in the process, they omit the original search term (s). You can manually type it into the keyword text field, but it's annoying. Additionally, some of the terms will be off-topic or mostly synonyms which is not what we typically want. Overall, the Google search term suggestion tool is far better and use it to speed up the process of creating campaigns in Yahoo. First, we typically create campaigns in Google. We will keep that window open, then open Yahoo. When creating campaigns we just copy and paste our Google keywords into the Yahoo keywords field, and save tons of time. Sometimes we get messages from Yahoo saying this or that word was omitted for this or that reason, but, overall this short cut saves, as we said, tons and tons of time.
